CLOA London

London CLOA is a network of Chief Culture and Leisure officers and senior officers with responsibility for culture and sport services across London.

In Autumn 22 we surveyed members about the future of London CLOA and then followed this up with a discussion. Based on the survey findings and comments at the meeting, we have now decided to evolve the format of London CLOA to be more flexible, agile, and suited to post-pandemic ways of working.

We know that attending regular meetings can be challenging due to busy work schedules and we are therefore moving to a new way of doing business:

  • Integrate London-specific content into the regular members newsletter, making sure it is easy to find and navigate to.
  • Use the LinkedIn CLOA members’ group to communicate London-specific issues, using #londoncloa and encourage members to do the same if they wish to raise regional issues or raise questions.
  • Host regional thematic round tables (modelled on the national round tables) to respond to emerging issues. We would welcome your suggestions for topics via info@cloa.org.uk

We would like to thank London Councils for their support over the years, providing agenda planning and programming support, securing speakers, and making their rooms available for our meetings.

Stefania Horne, Assistant Director, Natural Environment – Hampstead Heath and North London Open Spaces at the City of London and Sara O’Donnell, Head of Arts and Culture at Wandsworth Council will be co-ordinating and leading London CLOA on the next steps of its journey.
