This virtual roundtable will bring CLOA members together to explore how culture, heritage and active wellbeing can strengthen identity, resilience and pride in place within the Government’s Pride in Place (PiP) Programme.

The event will be Chaired by Grant Taylor, a CLOA Executive member and Assistant Director – Community and Leisure at Basildon Borough Council, which is a developing phase two PiP area.

There will be an introductory address about the aims of the programme from Ed Hickey, Senior Policy Lead at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government.

The session will also include a case study from Thea Behrman focused on the Estuary Festival and extensive cultural engagement work on Canvey Island.

Participants will leave with practical ideas, peer learning and a clearer sense of how to maximise their influence on local Pride in Place Boards.
