Speakers Notes
- Shonagh Manson, Assistant Director, Culture and Creative Industries provided a hosts welcome and highlighted the Mayor’s draft Culture Strategy and the cultural initiatives being delivered by the Greater London Authority across London.
- Martin Reeves, Chief Executive, Coventry City Council gave
a scene setting address on The Role of the Local Authority as an Enabler highlighting the need to take a different approach to ensure that culture and leisure are supported at corporate level and outlining how Coventry secured City of Culture 2021.
- Anne Torreggiani, Chief Executive, The Audience Agency explained how local authorities can use audience evidence to support continued investment in culture, including effectively using tools such as
Audience Finder.
- Our new sponsor MACE introduce their International consultancy and construction services and
outlined some key projects.
- Dr Michael Dixon – National Clinical Champion for Social Prescribing gave a
presentation explaining how social prescribing can play a key role in improving the health and wellbeing of local communities.
- Nicola Marie Johnston attended on behalf of Night Time Industries Association and
gave an overview of how in Aberdeen they are working with the night time industry to maximise the positive benefits that clubs and venues can bring to the cultural economy.
