Climate Emergency Roundtable

Over 270 councils have now declared a climate emergency and are taking action to reduce their own carbon emissions and working with others to tackle the impact of climate change on their local area.  The presentations from this session are now available to review and share:

Paul O’ Brien Chief Executive, Chief Exec, APSE covered the policy context: the impact of Climate Action on council budgets; taking a council wide approach; implications for front-line services and supporting local authorities to take action on climate change.

Graciela Melitsko Thornton, Creative Green Programme Lead at Julie’s Bicycle provided pointers for local authority leaders on a net zero commitment, highlighting best practice from around the UK and beyond and signposting green tools for culture.
