Hugh Brasher, Event Director, London Marathon Events, highlighted the achievements of the London Marathon and Ride London in terms of generating interest in mass participation sporting events, motivating personal achievement, inspiring behaviour change and encouraging volunteering

Wayne Hemingway, Hemingway Design, talked about the unique role of culture and creativity in place making using examples of places that are seeking to improve social mobility, life expectancy and grow their local economy in innovative ways.

Sarah Mears, Programme Manager, Libraries Connected explored how the public library system, plays a crucial role within communities : – particularly in areas of low cultural engagement, supporting children in their early years and harnessing talents and aspirations that have a lasting impact on life chances. Roger Higman, Director the Network of Wellbeing focused on wellbeing as a driver of public policy and the key role that culture and leisure can play in tackling loneliness and enabling everyone to flourish.
