CLOA Aspiring Leaders Awards launched

I am thrilled to announce the first ever Chief Cultural and Leisure Officers Association (CLOA) Aspiring Leaders Awards, which is an opportunity to spotlight and recognise the passion, innovation, and leadership of rising stars from across the country.

These awards are designed to celebrate the future of our sector, recognising individuals who are making a real difference in their communities and driving positive change.

There are four categories in which to nominate colleagues:

  1. Aspiring Leader – Culture, Creativity and Heritage
Recognising an emerging leader making a meaningful impact within the cultural sector (including libraries, tourism).
  2. Aspiring Leader – Leisure and Physical Activity
Celebrating a rising star demonstrating leadership and innovation in leisure services (including parks and green spaces).
  3. Aspiring Leader – Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI)
Honouring an individual who champions inclusive practices, with a particular emphasis on advocacy for people with disabilities.
  4. Aspiring Leader – Sustainability
Acknowledging a leader advancing sustainable approaches, especially those aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Shortlisted nominees will be celebrated across our online platforms, and winners in each category will receive one year’s free CLOA membership.

As these awards are intended to acknowledge upcoming leaders, the nominee does not need to be a member of CLOA, however the nominator must be a subscribing member of the association.

Nominations are open now until the 3rd of February 26.

To find out more please see this overview and to nominate a colleague please use this form.

We look forward to reading about and amplifying the amazing work of our colleagues across the culture and leisure sectors!
